Was ist deine Idee für den Althangrund, das größte innerstädtische Stadtentwicklungsgebiet Wiens? Wir als 4lthangrund sitzen in der alten WU – also mitten drin. Als Initiative setzen wir uns für eine vielfältige, offene, kulturell-sozial-bildungsorientierte und vor allem niederschwellig zugängliche und unkommerzielle Nutzung ein. Wie könnte ein Solidarischer Stadtteil aussehen? Wie können die Interaktionen zwischen dem Areal und der unmittelbaren Umgebung geprägt werden?

Seit Jänner 2020 gibt es von uns ein regelmäßiges Programm. Es gibt eine vielfältige Nutzung: als Foodcoop, regelmäßigen offenen Bürobetrieb, eine alternative Mensa, Treffen, sowie vieles mehr.

Nun kommt ihr ins Spiel – wir wollen eure Ideen, Projektvorschläge und Veranstaltungen!
Sommerkino auf der Platte / unkommerzieller Kinderraum / Parkplatzbespielung / Nachbarschaftsfest / und mehr ist bereits in Planung!

What’s your idea for Althangrund?
Althangrund is the biggest inner-city area of urban development in Vienna. As 4lthangrund we’re located in the “Alte WU” (former building of the University of Economics and Business Administration Vienna) and therefore right in the middle of Althangrund! The initiative “4lthangrund” strives for future uses of facilities that are accessible for all, uncommercial, diverse, and oriented towards educational and socio-cultural purposes.

How could this part of town be transformed into be more solidarity and inclusive place? How could the relations and interactions between the area and the immediate surroundings be?

As an initiative, we have been using spaces of the old WU and opening them up to the public. Since January 2020 we have a regular program. There is a variety of uses: as a food coop, regular open office operations, an alternative cafeteria, choir meetings, round tables, and much more.
